About the event

In this free 90-minute workshop, we'll get grounded in place and talk about what that actually means for our writing and our writing lives. We'll read and discuss some particularly place-based poetry and then we'll write into the questions of place: What helps make WHERE you are (or where you've been) WHO you are? What is it about this place (or that place) that compels you to stay, to pay attention, to write? What do you know about the place that claims you that you must tell the world?

B. Eugene B.s' Artist Statement

Different forms of self are apparent in my art. My visual art is closely tied to my process of writing poetry, and these two forms of expression are considered the same child in my mind; not a closely related phenomenon, but an alternate form of the same creation.
